Job Description:
Contract – 6 month Fixed Term Contract
As a Financial Accountant you play a key role being responsible for managing and reporting the company\’s financial data. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting management with financial performance to guide strategic decision-making.
As the Financial Accountant, you play a critical role in maintaining compliance with financial standards, optimising financial processes, and supporting the company’s vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
MIS and Reporting:
- Maintain financial records for UK sites/Line of Business to facilitate management reports.
· Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts as per local regulations, etc.
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation by providing relevant information regularly.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual departments.
- Prepare supporting information for annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Finance Management:
- Hands-on experience in month-end and year-end accounting activities and book closures.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Posting journal entries, maintaining and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Participate in the development and implementation of internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Ensure payroll is accurate and records are maintained
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
- Carrying out bank reconciliations
- Regularly meet with the Finance Manager to improve processes, turnaround time, etc.
- Assist in managing the studio P&L efficiently, providing relevant financial insights and analysis.
Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and guidance.
- Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional Qualification: CPA/CA or equivalent (preferred).
- Mininum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial accounting with month end-closing and book keeping experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, with excellent Excel skills.
- Good communicator with a \”Make It Happen\” attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
