£34,000 – £40,000 + Overtime + £3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Let’s be honest — not all engineering roles are built the same. If you know lightning protection, you already know how niche this is. The work matters, the standards are high, and the right engineers are hard to come by. That’s exactly why we’re offering a £3,000 sign-on bonus for those who join us before the end of April (subject to qualifying criteria).

You’ll be working on everything from MOD sites and hospitals to high‑rise residential buildings and major universities — installing systems that quite literally protect structures from catastrophic damage.

What the role actually looks like

  • This is hands‑on, real engineering. You’ll be out on site — not stuck behind a desk — installing and upgrading lightning protection and earthing systems across a wide range of buildings.
  • Working at height using scaffolding, access equipment, and safe systems of work.
  • Installing lightning protection systems in line with design specs.
  • Upgrading and repairing existing systems.
  • Completing site documentation properly (no shortcuts).
  • Liaising with site teams, project managers, and clients.
  • Working independently or as part of a tight‑knit team.

We aim to keep work regional, but there will be occasional stays away depending on projects.

What you’ll need

  • Proven background in lightning protection (install / test / repair).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Lightning Conductor Engineering or Level 3 Lightning Protection Test & Inspection.
  • Solid understanding of BS EN 62305.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Nice to have: IPAF, PASMA, SSSTS.

What’s in it for you

  • £34,000 – £40,000 basic salary.
  • £3,000 sign-on bonus (for qualifying engineers joining before end of May).
  • Overtime available.
  • Paid travel time after 30 minutes.
  • Company vehicle + fuel card.
  • Life assurance (3x salary).
  • Online GP access + prescriptions.
  • Vivup discount platform (gym, tech, holidays, retail & more).
  • Salary sacrifice pension.
  • Genuine progression opportunities across a growing group of businesses.

Why this role stands out

This isn’t just another install job. You’ll be working on high‑profile, safety‑critical sites, with the backing of a business that’s growing fast and investing in its people. If you’re good at what you do, there’s real scope to progress — whether that’s technically or into leadership. If you’re already in the industry, you’ll know — good roles like this don’t come up often. Apply now and get ahead of the April sign‑on bonus deadline.
