Are you a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for design and a keen interest in the construction industry? We're looking for a motivated Trainee Lightning Protection Designer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with no prior experience in lightning protection to build a rewarding career in a specialised field.
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that designs for all projects meet current legislative and British Standard requirements, including CDM regulations. You will be providing crucial support to our regional teams by preparing and reviewing design and quality documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating AutoCAD drawings for clients, ensuring they conform to BIM requirements and industry standards. This will help free up time for our sales and operational teams.
- Reviewing all secured projects with a 'design' element to ensure compliance with current British Standards and CDM legislation before they are submitted to clients.
- Providing regular technical support to regional teams, including advice and attendance at meetings when needed.
- Helping regional teams prepare and issue Inspection and Test (Quality) Plans for projects and collating ongoing data to assist the Technical Director.
Who we are looking for
This position is designed for someone who is relatively junior and where full training will be provided. You should have A* to C grade A-Level in a science or engineering discipline. Experience with CAD software and knowledge of the construction industry is preferred, but not essential. A full UK driving licence or be working towards one is required for occasional site visits and travel to regional offices.
If you have a foundational understanding of design principles and a desire to develop a niche skill set, we encourage you to apply. We provide comprehensive training and support to help you succeed and grow within our team.
