Let’s be honest: not all electrical jobs are created equal. Some are “change a light fitting and call it a day.” This isn’t one of those. We’re looking for an EICR Electrician who gets a kick out of making things safe, ticking every compliance box, and leaving behind wiring that would make even the IET blush.

We’re ECS, an award-winning compliance crew keeping the lights on (and the sparks off) in homes, housing associations, public sector sites and commercial buildings. We mix industry know-how with modern tech so inspections run smoothly, reports actually make sense, and the only disruption is deciding who makes the tea.

Why you might actually want this job:

  • A salary of £36,000 to £40,000 DOE
  • Benefits including a company vehicle, life assurance, virtual GP and pension
  • You get to say “I keep thousands safe” at parties, which is cooler than it sounds
  • You’ll work on social housing and public sector projects that actually matter
  • You’ll have up-to-date kit that does the hard graft for you (no stone-age testers here)
  • Pay’s competitive, the team’s solid, and there’s room to grow without drowning in buzzwords

What you’ll actually be doing (minus the fluff):

  • Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) — the proper, detailed kind
  • Spotting and fixing C1 and C2 faults on site (because “just flagging it” isn’t your style)
  • Installing and issuing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) when required
  • Keeping it all above board with the regs (18th Edition is your bedtime reading, right?)
  • Managing your own workload like a pro, but still being part of the wider crew
  • Travelling up to an hour to reach different sites when needed

What we’re looking for:

  • An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition qualified — you know your regs inside out
  • Inspection & Testing qualification: City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, 2391-52 or EAL equivalent
  • Experience working in social housing (or similar)
  • Organised, self-motivated, detail-focused (your mates say “bit of a perfectionist”)
  • Good communicator who doesn’t glaze people over with technical jargon
  • Someone who treats health & safety as gospel, not a suggestion

If you’re after a job where you can coast, this isn’t it. But if you like the idea of making a difference one inspection at a time — with a side order of modern kit, proper pay, and a team that actually has your back — then you know what to do. Apply, and let’s talk wiring.
