Are you ready for a hands-on, outdoor career that directly protects some of the UK's most important structures? We’re looking for enthusiastic Trainee Lightning Protection Installers to join our specialist team. This is a unique opportunity to learn a vital trade from the ground up within a highly regulated industry.
What You’ll Be Doing Here: As a Trainee, you will work alongside experienced Engineers to install and upgrade essential lightning protection and earthing systems on a variety of tall structures, from high-rise offices to industrial chimneys. This involves working outdoors and at height in all weather conditions, navigating difficult-to-reach places, and safely using scaffolding, work platforms, and light equipment. You will assist in following pre-designed schemes, completing accurate paperwork, and providing on-site communication to clients and project managers, adhering to rigorous safety standards like BS EN 62305.
What We’re Looking For: We are seeking individuals ready for a dynamic role at heights in the Glasgow / Edinburgh area. You will need a Valid Full UK Driving License as travel is critical due to our national customer base, which may involve periodic time away from home. Ideally, you will have previous experience in Ground Works, Roofing, or Electrical trades. Your commitment to safety and eagerness to learn will be key to your success.
Your Future & Comprehensive Training: This role offers entry into a high-demand, niche industry with excellent career progression. You will complete our comprehensive Adult Learner training (OSAT), leading to an NVQ qualification that covers essential areas such as Lightning Protection Standards and Working Regulations, Safe Use of Hand Tools, Safe Use of Ladders, and Working at Height Awareness. You will also gain valuable certifications such as IPAF (Mobile Elevated Working Platform), PASMA (Scaffold Tower Erecting and Dismantling), and SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme), equipping you with a diverse skill set for a rewarding future. During training you will earn National Minimum Wage for your age: £12.71 for aged 21+ and £10.81 for aged 18-20). We offer structured pay rises as you gain experience and receive appropriate qualifications. Apply today!
