Salary: c. £60,000 OTE (£38,000 base, PLUS bonuses), a company van (with fuel card!), and solid benefits
Hours: Normal working hours are days, however there are requirements for unsocial working to accommodate customer needs.
What you’ll actually be doing (cutting through the jargon):
- Running full-scale inspections and tests on commercial and industrial fixed wiring and switchgear—and compiling EICRs that actually matter
- Spotting what's not quite up to scratch, logging it, and telling the story of what needs fixing—in clear English, not bureaucrat-speak
- Using testing gear and reporting software like a pro—precision meets efficiency
- Working independently, adapting daily, and keeping your cool—because each site throws its own challenges
- Staying on top of EICR standards (BS 7671, IET wiring regs, City & Guilds credentials) to keep everything above board

- A minimum of around three years of similar experience—Test & Inspect, remedial repairs, or compliance‑heavy work all count
- The proper qualifications: City & Guilds 2391‑52 (or equivalent), NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition certificate—proof you know what you’re doing
- A full UK driving licence—van not for decoration, but your mobile HQ
