About PTSG Access & Safety
At PTSG Access & Safety, we specialise in keeping people safe at height. From testing roof anchor points to maintaining some of the world’s largest BMUs, we deliver expert access and safety solutions across the UK.
The Role
We are looking for a Technical Sales & Estimating Manager to take a leading role in driving growth across the South. This is a dual-function role, combining business development with estimating expertise. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, carrying out technical surveys, producing accurate estimates and proposals, and closing new business – with a particular focus on BMU and cradle systems. The ideal candidate will bring both engineering know-how and commercial acumen, enabling you to develop tailored access solutions, win contracts, and build long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in the South (focus: BMU / cradle systems).
- Manage the full sales process: prospecting, site surveys, specifications, quotations, and contract negotiation.
- Carry out technical site visits and surveys, producing system specifications, risk assessments, method statements, and technical reports.
- Prepare accurate estimates and bids for systems, repairs, and remedial works.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, correct resourcing, and accurate costings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors, ensuring repeat business and satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory standards (e.g. EN standards, safety compliance) to inform commercial strategy.
- Represent PTSG professionally at client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Manage your own diary effectively, balancing travel, customer visits, and internal collaboration.
Requirements
- Strong engineering/technical background (mechanical, structural, façade, or suspended access systems).
- Proven experience in sales and estimating, ideally within BMU, façade access, or similar capital equipment.
- Skilled in preparing technical specifications, proposals, and reports.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and capable of working independently.
- Strong organisational skills, able to handle multiple opportunities at once.
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility for travel across the South (and occasional UK‑wide).
- Prior experience with BMUs, cradles, or façade access equipment (highly desirable).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with attractive commission structure.
- Car allowance.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
- Career progression opportunities within the wider PTSG Group.
- Health cash plan (dental, gym discounts, retail savings + more).
- Free parking and refreshments at PTSG offices.
- Employee referral bonus scheme.
