We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Freelance Technical Proofreader / Typesetter / Document Formatting Specialist to ensure the accuracy and consistency of our technical documentation and courseware in preparation for publishing. The successful candidate will demonstrate precision, technical literacy, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work within established timelines and frameworks.

As a freelance contractor, it is your responsibility to acquire licenses to use software required for this position (M365 and Adobe Acrobat).

Key Responsibilities
  • Proofread technical courseware and related materials for grammatical and structural errors
  • Perform formatting of materials to align them with organizational and style standards for multiple publication types
  • Perform pre-flight checks for PDF outputs, and confirm all aspects of the final materials meet standards
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve formatting and content-related queries
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in proofreading and/or typesetting
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and its style/formatting capabilities
  • A high level of proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and its pre-flight tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to reviewing complex materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt quickly, and meet deadlines
  • Interest in or understanding of data center computing technologies is highly desirable

Fully remote working arrangement. Engagement will begin with an initial trial contract.

Remuneration

Compensation is agreed and paid in USD, and will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, skill set, and versatility. The typical rate offered is $25-$35 per hour.
