The Construction Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) culture across projects and operations.
The role involves providing competent advice to site management and supervisors, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safe systems of work.
The officer supports project teams by delivering inductions, daily briefings, and RAMS reviews, maintaining up-to-date safety documentation, and ensuring all personnel receive appropriate training and communication to carry out their work safely and effectively
The Health and Safety Officer will also play a key role in monitoring performance through audits, inspections, and incident management.
Their responsibility will include investigating accidents and near misses, preparing reports, implementing corrective actions, and lesson learned to prevent recurrence.
The role involves liaising with subcontractors, clients, and management, coordinating inspections, maintaining accurate records, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards across the organisation
SHEQ Roles & Responsibilities.
- General
- Ensure competent advice and assistance is provided so that others such as site managers and supervisor understand their obligations and how to achieve them.
- Promote a positive SHEQ Culture throughout the organisation through leading by example.
- Ensure regular updates on all communications to staff within own area.
- Constantly working with the project team to ensure relevant information is shared and appropriate advice is provided.
- Hours of work: 45 hours per week

- Regularly check the intranet (Sharepoint) and ensure all necessary information are uploaded for Business Continuity and the Quality of information is acceptable.

- Provide induction briefing to new personnel/staff coming to site
- Present daily briefing to the employees first thing in the morning
- Take responsibility of reviewing RAMS and revising where necessary
