The Team
You will be joining a small, close-knit internal team of three, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a practical and collaborative working environment.
The Role
In this role, you will coordinate the activities of three service engineers based in the UK, Germany, and China. You will use your hands-on machine-tool background to assist customers in troubleshooting and problem-solving either by phone or email. For complex issues, you will be able to seek support and advice from your colleagues in manufacturing, software, electrical, and controls, working jointly to ensure our customers' machines remain operational. Training will be given on our internal systems; however, you must be confident using computer systems to manage service requests, produce quotations, and communicate technical matters by email.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to technical enquiries and provide support on troubleshooting machine faults, applying a solid understanding of Holroyd machines and their applications.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for spares, services, and upgrades.
- Lead and support a team of field service engineers, offering technical guidance when needed.
- Manage the service schedule and coordinate with customers and internal team for travel arrangements.
- Work closely with engineering, software and production teams on complex technical issues.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by responding promptly to enquiries and providing effective technical support.
Person Specification:
- Apprentice trained and time-served in a mechanical discipline.
- Experienced in the build and application of CNC Milling & Grinding machines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to discuss technical matters confidently.
- Understanding of MRP systems (advantageous).
- Previous enquiry or sales support experience (advantageous).
Salary & Benefits:
- Favourable weekly pattern of 4 days (37 hrs) Mon-Thurs 07:45-16:30, Fri 07:45-11:45
- Highly competitive salary
