About Precision Components Ltd: Precision Components Ltd is a leading manufacturer of compressor rotor screws based in Rochdale. We specialise in the manufacture of high‑quality, precision engineered helical components for various industries.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines with FANUC controls.
- Interpret technical drawings and modify programmes to part specifications.
- Select and install cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures.
- Conduct quality control inspections using micrometers, gauges, and verniers.
- Monitor operations and troubleshoot cutting conditions.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum three years' experience as a time‑served CNC operator/setter‑turner, preferably with knowledge of Doosan/Mori Seiki machines.
- FANUC experience and capable of setting machines for a variety of components.
- Experience producing complex components to very tight tolerances.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Experience using inspection equipment - micrometers, gauges, verniers.
- Qualified Advanced Modern Apprenticeship or recognised time‑served certification.
- Knowledge of metal cutting techniques and Lean principles.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern and overtime when required.
- Knowledge of Doosan VMC/HMC would be advantageous.
What We Offer:
- Salary: £17.75 - £19.00 per hour (plus premium overtime rates – overtime available)
- Benefits: 6% employer‑matched pension, 4× basic life assurance, 33 holidays per year increasing to 38 with service, Employee Assistance Programme, Company Sick Pay Scheme, Service Recognition Scheme, Cash Health Plan and Gift at Christmas.
- Hours: Two‑week rotating shift pattern, 38‑hour week – early finish on Friday:
- Week 1: Mon to Thurs: 5:45 – 14:05, Fri: 5:45 – 11:45
- Week 2: 14:05 – 22:20, Fri: 11:45 – 18:05
