PTC is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design, implementation, and transformation of large‑scale PLM‑ERP‑MES integrations within our global Customer Success PLM Segment Hub. The Enterprise Architect will serve as both a technical expert and strategic leader, overseeing the design, optimization, and promotion of best practices for integrating Windchill PLM with enterprise ERP and MES systems and processes. This individual will offer comprehensive subject‑matter expertise in enterprise PLM, ERP, and MES systems and processes, acting as a trusted advisor for PTC, its clients, and partners regarding architecture and business strategies at the convergence of these platforms. This position plays a critical role in shaping architectural strategy for integrated Windchill deployments across global strategic accounts, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical standards, and customer success objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and disseminate Windchill PLM architecture and implementation methodologies, frameworks, and accelerators for scalable, repeatable deployments.
- Spearhead the development and global scaling of best practices for PLM‑ERP‑MES integration, collaborating with internal Product, Professional Services, and Technical Enablement teams as well as PTC’s System Integrator ecosystem.
- Establish and promote best practices for business process transformation and organizational change management in relation to PLM‑ERP‑MES integrations, supporting cohesive product development and industrialization strategies.
- Develop and maintain reference PLM‑ERP‑MES architectures, solution blueprints, and enterprise integration frameworks.
- Architect and implement robust end‑to‑end integration strategies between Windchill PLM and ERP and MES systems, including BOM transformation and synchronization, change management, configuration management, manufacturing and process planning, supply chain, quality, service, and regulatory data exchange.
- Establish governance protocols for product and manufacturing data quality, lifecycle traceability, and reuse across PLM, ERP, and MES systems.
- Design and manage enterprise master data models for optimized enterprise processes, system interactions, and cross‑discipline data associativity.
- Define and evolve the Windchill enterprise architecture strategies, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with Digital Thread and enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Partner with our implementation and technical enablement teams to provide enterprise PLM‑ERP‑MES process and architecture leadership across the customer lifecycle.
- Recommend and validate frameworks, accelerators, and best practices for efficient and successful implementation.
- Provide architectural and governance oversight for strategic customer engagements across global accounts.
- Mentor PTC Professional Services teams on Windchill system architecture and enterprise integration best practices.
- Play a leadership/advisory role in New Product Introduction deliverables and readiness planning, technical enablement content and certification development, and product feedback loop processes.
- Work closely with Product Management, R&D, the Enterprise Deployment Center, other Segment Hubs, and our customer‑facing field teams to influence product direction and ensure world‑class customer experience.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for internal and customer‑facing Digital Thread/Digital Transformation initiatives spanning other PTC Product Segments (e.g., ALM, CAD, IoT, SLM, etc.) and organizations.
- Evangelize PLM‑ERP‑MES and industry‑specific expertise through the PLM Community of Practice and PTC’s Partner Network.
- Contribute to the PLM Community of Practice by sharing technical insights, customer stories, and best practice materials.
- Provide advisory services and mentorship for strategic PTC partners.
- Support the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in PTC solutions, including the integration of AI‑driven capabilities into Windchill PLM, systems integration, and data orchestration.
- Advise on the adoption and implementation of AI technologies to enhance customer business processes, data analytics, automation, and decision support.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in PLM‑ERP‑MES systems architecture, with deep expertise in PLM, ERP, and MES systems and enterprise processes for product development, planning, manufacturing/production, quality, service, and sustainability.
- Proven track record of leading/facilitating successful ERP and/or PLM deployments as an implementer and/or administrator.
- Extensive experience with integration of Windchill PLM with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion Cloud and NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of current and emerging APIs for system orchestration and enterprise integration frameworks for PLM, ERP, and MES.
- Robust understanding of Windchill PLM, ERP, and MES data models (particularly xBOM, configuration management, and BOP), containers, configuration and customization, enterprise system integrations, performance management, and deployment strategies.
- Strong grasp of enterprise master data and Digital Product Traceability/Digital Thread principles.
- Knowledge of Cloud‑based infrastructure and technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience in software development, build, and deployment (JAVA, JSP, XML, Ant, etc.).
- Strong project/program management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced global environment.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative problem‑solving skills with an ability to balance analytical and creative problem‑solving.
- High competency in building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with customers and internal teams.
- High degree of comfort with senior management/executive C‑Level engagement; able to carry executive‑level enterprise architecture discussions and support technical implementation best practice and oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to work and adjust across cultures.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of an inter‑disciplinary, cross‑functional, and high‑performing team.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of ERP business processes, technical capabilities, and implementation frameworks is highly desirable, particularly for SAP solutions.
- Experience with integration of Windchill PLM with MES, CPQ, and other enterprise systems.
- Expertise in enterprise processes for IT, planning, and/or service and sustainment desired.
- Technical familiarity/proficiency in PTC’s ALM, AR, CAD, IoT, and/or SLM solutions.
- Substantial best practice development experience.
- Demonstrated ability to drive AI‑enabled innovation in PLM and related business processes.
- Strong business acumen with value mapping and technical sales/pre‑sales or business development experience.
- Industry expertise in MedTech, Electronics & High‑Tech, Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and/or Industrial verticals is also desirable but not required.
