What you will do

Working with the Operations Division of the Planning, Development and Public Works Department, you will provide labour support for road maintenance activities and protect the crew and public by performing traffic control (flagging) duties.

  • Road Maintenance: You will perform activities such as traffic control (flagging), pothole patching, and weed whacking.
  • Labour Support: You will assist Public Works staff with culvert installations, ditch cleanout, sign repairs, guide rail repairs, brushing (chipping), shouldering, and asphalt repairs.

In accordance with County Policy, a Criminal Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

You have a valid Ontario G2 (or higher) driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and are comfortable operating a light-duty pickup truck. You have, or are willing to purchase, CSA-approved footwear before the start date.
  • Experience: You know your way around a job site or construction zone and understand that safety in these settings is a top priority. You have experience working with small hand tools and light-duty lawn equipment.
