We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well‑established and highly regarded automated distribution business with multiple sites across the UK. The role
You’ll be part of a shift‑based engineering team, responsible for maintaining highly automated systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance. The role is hands‑on, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Electrical fault finding on automated machinery and conveyor systems
- Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
- Working with PLC‑controlled equipment (fault finding, not programming)
- Supporting mechanical maintenance when required
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
- Contributing to reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
This role is ideal for an apprentice‑trained engineer with experience in fast‑paced environments such as Food, FMCG, or Automated Distribution.
You will ideally have:
- A completed apprenticeship
- Electrical maintenance and fault‑finding experience
- Background in Food, FMCG, logistics, or automated warehousing environments
- Experience working with automation, conveyors, sensors, drives, and motors
- Basic PLC fault‑finding knowledge (Siemens / Allen Bradley / similar)
- A proactive, team‑focused approach to engineering
