One of the UK’s largest providers of Diesel Generators is currently expanding and is looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join them on their journey. A family-run business, they have grown from a small yard to five depots across the country, with one of the UK’s largest supplies of state of the art generators as well as specialist transport fleet. They’re committed to sustainability and a greener future, and have rolled out hybrid BESS units, as well as looking into cutting emissions for their customers.

This role is based in their workshop, including measuring, cutting, welding and fitting metal.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform full sheet metal fabrication, including measuring, cutting, folding, welding, and fitting steel sections (1mm to 15mm), using plasma, flame cutting, and MIG welding techniques.
  • Operate and program machinery such as guillotines and press brakes, alongside tasks like soundproofing, generator part repairs, and fabricating new parts when needed.
  • Use handheld and powered tools, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and collaborate with staff to ensure optimal production and materials availability.
  • Comply with company quality, environmental, and health & safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) while providing general assistance in yard operations and contributing to continuous improvement.

  • Metal fabrication experience.

  • Accurate measurement skills.
