Digital Engineer (CAD) | Watford | 40k to 45k
A growing engineering consultancy in Watford is looking for a CAD focused Digital Engineer to join a close knit team delivering major infrastructure projects across rail and surface transport.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong CAD foundation who is keen to build their digital engineering, BIM and 3D modelling skills. The team values aptitude and the right attitude as much as a fully finished skillset, so it suits someone eager to learn, develop and grow into the role.
About the role
You will:
- Produce and coordinate high quality 2D and 3D CAD deliverables across infrastructure projects
- Support BIM and digital engineering requirements, including 3D and 4D modelling
- Create, manage and maintain engineering models and design information
- Work within Common Data Environments to manage engineering information
- Support the implementation of digital engineering standards and best practice
- Collaborate with engineering, design and project teams to drive efficient delivery
What we are looking for
- CAD experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, highways or a related environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar CAD software
- Experience producing engineering drawings and working towards 3D models
- An understanding of BIM and digital engineering principles
- Strong attention to detail and information management skills
- Good communication and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience on rail or Transport for London projects
- Exposure to point cloud data, survey or drone work
- Familiarity with Bentley ProjectWise, OpenRoads or Revit
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management standards
- An architectural or wider design background, which the team sees as a positive

- Two stage interview, Teams followed by face to face
- Office based role with 1 day per home.
