I'm currently recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a well-established ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy in Manchester.
This is a genuinely good time to join.
My client is an established, nationally expanding business working across a broad mix of development, health, education, defence and infrastructure clients.
You'd be joining a team that handles the full ground investigation lifecycle, and there's real scope here for an ambitious engineer to develop, with tailored training and a clear path to grow.
It's a role with variety built in.
Roughly half your time is on site across the UK, the rest split between home and the Manchester office on a flexible hybrid pattern, so you get the site exposure without living out of a suitcase.
- What you\'ll be doing
- Scoping, setting up and supervising geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations, from desk study through to delivery
- Logging boreholes, scheduling lab testing, and carrying out groundwater and ground gas monitoring
- Producing clear factual and interpretative reports that feed directly into project design and risk decisions
- What we\'re after
- A degree in geology, engineering geology or environmental science, plus hands-on GI experience across scoping, logging, monitoring and reporting
- Someone comfortable managing site logistics, subcontractors and lab schedules while keeping data quality tight
- A full driving licence, strong HSE awareness on site, and the confidence to communicate findings clearly to clients and contractors
- Why it\'s worth a look
My client is a global consultancy with thousands of people across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, but the team you'd join keeps a personal feel and backs its people to develop.
Tickets like CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, CAT and Genny, water hygiene and first aid are all welcome, and anything you\'re missing they\'ll train.
If you\'re a geo-environmental or geotechnical engineer weighing up your next move, send over your CV or drop me a message and I\'ll share the detail.
