Experienced Commissioning Engineer required to deliver on-site testing, commissioning, and fault resolution of HV/MV switchgear systems up to 36kV across the UK. You'll be working independently at customer sites, ensuring equipment is commissioned safely, performs to specification, and meets all technical and contractual requirements.
What you'll be doing:
- Commissioning, testing, maintenance, repair, and modification of switchgear systems up to 36kV
- Carrying out fault diagnosis on switchgear and associated equipment and implementing corrective actions
- Delivering on-site commissioning and supporting factory-based works when required
- Interpreting technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation
- Preparing method statements, test documentation, and clear technical reports for customers
- Attending technical meetings with customers and project stakeholders
- Completing site-specific risk assessments for every assignment
- Working to strict health & safety procedures in HV/MV and heavy industrial environments
- Representing the company professionally while operating remotely on your own initiative
What you'll need:
- Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- At least 4 years' experience in switchgear testing and commissioning
- Proven experience working independently on customer sites
- Strong understanding of HV/MV safety rules and safe systems of work
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel UK-wide, including extended periods away from home
