PT Renewables is partnered with one of the UK's most critical infrastructure operators to find an exceptional geotechnical professional ready to step into a high-impact leadership role. Our client manages thousands of miles of strategic infrastructure networks across England and is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer.
The Role
You’ll carry genuine technical authority, lead a skilled team of engineers, and drive the kind of forward-thinking asset management that keeps critical infrastructure safe for generations to come.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and inspire a team of geotechnical engineers, working closely with the Team Manager to drive performance and develop early technical solutions for a diverse pipeline of schemes.
- Own technical authority across earthworks, rock slopes, drainage interactions, and the full spectrum of geotechnical asset types.
- Influence real policy by aligning delivery with national standards (including DMRB: CS641 and CD622) and driving continual improvement in geotechnical practice across the sector.
About You
- Chartered or Incorporated membership of the Geological Society, ICE, or equivalent professional body.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in ground engineering and infrastructure works.
- Strong working knowledge of geotechnical standards, asset policies, and risk management frameworks.

- Salary up to £55,000
- Hybrid working in either Bristol or Exeter
