Ever walked into a brand new supermarket and wondered how it all comes together behind the scenes? Somebody estimated it. That somebody could be you.
This is a rare chance to join one of the UK's leading retail building services specialists, a business that has spent more than twenty years turning empty shells into the large scale stores you recognise from every high street and retail park in the country. Full M&E, fit-out, fixtures and displays, delivered at pace and at scale, with a client book of national supermarket brands and projects reaching across the UK, Europe and Australia. They are also recognised as one of Britain's fastest growing private companies, and they are still growing.
They need a Mechanical Estimator to take ownership of mechanical and HVAC cost estimating across some genuinely impressive retail projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing detailed mechanical cost estimates, material take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and compliance
- Running the tender cycle from enquiry through bid preparation to handover
- Analysing market rates, benchmark data and project risk to keep pricing sharp and competitive
- Helping drive continuous improvement across the estimating function
What you'll need:
- At least five years in a similar estimating capacity in construction, ideally with a mechanical contractor
- Sound knowledge of mechanical specifications and materials
- Confidence interpreting specifications, drawings, schedules of work and Bills of Quantities
- Retail M&E experience is a bonus but not essential
What's in it for you:
- Strong salary reflecting the level of the role, plus a car allowance (Β£5,000)
- Twenty five days holiday plus bank holidays, a birthday day off on top, and the option to buy or sell more
- EV salary sacrifice scheme, cycle to work, enhanced family friendly pay and a health cash plan
- Real investment in your development with regular reviews and clear progression
