We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects across East Anglia. This role will see you working closely with delivery teams to ensure strong commercial performance, contractual compliance, and effective cost and risk management. This is a key commercial role, responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of multiple projects while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members. This opportunity would suit someone with well-rounded Quantity Surveying experience within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment, particularly across infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial activities across the full project lifecycle
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Prepare and manage subcontract packages
- Evaluate tenders and place subcontracts
- Ensure effective procurement across all project stages
- Support supply chain performance and continuous improvement
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Maximise project cash flow through valuations and invoicing
- Manage variations, claims, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and performance against targets
- Produce accurate financial reports and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Manage risk, opportunities, and change control processes
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
- Provide commercial insight to support delivery teams
- Project Lifecycle Support
- Support delivery teams throughout project execution
- Ensure effective commercial processes from mobilisation through to completion
- Contribute to sustainability and carbon reduction objectives
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or infrastructure
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness, reporting, and forecasting ability
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor preferred
- Proven experience on infrastructure projects
