Exciting opportunity to play a key role in Britain's renewable energy future. Our client, a leading construction and civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a landmark energy infrastructure project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical piece of national infrastructure supporting offshore renewable energy generation and the UK's Net Zero ambitions.
The Project involves the construction of a new electrical substation connecting major offshore wind generation to the National Grid. The scheme encompasses large-scale earthworks, new access roads and highway junctions, complex reinforced concrete works, and steel-framed buildings housing cutting-edge power distribution equipment. Construction commences spring 2025 with completion targeted for December 2027.
The Role includes leading the commercial function across this major infrastructure project, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors, managing procurement and tendering processes, maximising cash flow through effective valuations, preparing CVR reports and forecasts, and managing variations, final accounts and commercial close-out.
- Formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Proven track record managing commercial activities on major infrastructure projects
- Strong NEC contract experience is essential
- Experience leading commercial teams
- Desirable: Chartered status (MRICS/MCIOB) or working towards chartership
