We are recruiting two experienced Site Managers for a major infrastructure project in Southend, delivering a £11.5m scheme including bridge demolition, earthworks, drainage, roundabout construction, traffic signal installation, and junction remodelling.
Location: Bulls Lodge Quarry, Chelmsford (within 1 hour of Southend town centre)
Hours: 40 per week, mainly Monday to Friday (overtime for weekends)
Team: 6 people
Salary: £41-48k + £4,700 car allowance
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily site operations across multiple live projects, ensuring work is safe, on time, and within budget.
- Support project planning, programming, and delivery strategies.
- Collaborate with commercial teams on cost estimates, forecasting, and subcontractor management.
- Lead and coordinate all on-site activities with strict HSEQ compliance.
- Contribute to ECI processes, including buildability reviews and risk assessments.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain to maintain strong working relationships.
- Monitor progress, manage subcontractors, and maintain accurate site records.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on infrastructure, highways, or major civils projects.
- Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, and civil engineering principles.
- Experience supporting planning and working with commercial teams on cost management.
- Ability to manage multiple sites in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid.
- HNC in Construction or Civil Engineering.
