A well established mechanical pipework and offsite manufacturing specialist with 25 years of experience, delivering pipework engineering, specialist welding, prefabricated plant skids and modular assembly across London, the South West and the Midlands. The business works with building services and industrial clients on their most critical projects. This is a growing business of 70 people, and this role is about supporting the project teams and keeping delivery running smoothly as the business scales.

The role

You will be the organised centre of a busy project environment, keeping everything moving behind the scenes. From getting orders out to suppliers and chasing them back in, to document control, planning support and project administration, you will make sure nothing slips through the cracks so the project managers can focus on delivery. This suits someone from a construction background who takes pride in being dependable, organised and on top of the detail, and who can add value from day one.

Key responsibilities

  • Raise and chase orders with suppliers, keeping deliveries on track
  • Look after document control and project paperwork
  • Support with planning, programme tracking and project administration
  • Help the estimating function as needed
  • Keep projects organised and keep the project managers informed
  • Be the reliable point of coordination across a busy portfolio of work

Essential experience

  • Experience in a project coordinator, project administrator or junior project manager role
  • A construction background, with no pipework knowledge needed for this role
  • Extremely organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident dealing with suppliers and managing documentation
  • Able to add value from day one with little or no training

Desirable

  • Exposure to mechanical, M&E or building services projects
  • Some estimating or commercial administration experience
  • Ambition to take on more and grow as the business grows
