Our client is a specialist power systems consultancy with full Lloyd's NERS accreditation for network design from LV to 132kV. They are a full-stack engineering house covering electrical design, protection & control, earthing, and civil works all under one roof.
Their impressive portfolio includes complex manufacturing grid connections for major international brands, delivery of over 100 solar farms, and they are at the forefront of large-scale (50MW+) battery storage projects.
This position has been created to support the continuing growth of their electrical power network design and consultancy services, undertaking the design of contestable electrical networks for new connections and private wire networks for generation and demand customers.
As a Power Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and specifying electrical distribution networks and substations from LV to 132kV, including:
- Cable specifications, sizing and thermal rating calculations
- Cable route drawings and legal plans for easements and substation leases
- Electrical switchgear (LV, 11kV, 33kV and 132kV)
- LV switchgear/fusegear and battery charger sizing
- LV networks, substation small power and lighting
- Producing engineering and design reports
- Conducting Designer Risk Assessments in line with CDM regulations
- Managing client expectations and maintaining project updates
