We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established Building Services consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and public sector projects.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in mechanical building services design and be comfortable delivering projects from concept through to detailed design. This role would suit an Intermediate to Senior level engineer with a strong technical background in HVAC and building services systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical building services solutions including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, public health and associated systems.
  • Produce mechanical calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate designs using Revit and work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Utilise industry-standard software for mechanical calculations and system design.
  • Attend design team meetings and support project delivery through all stages.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards and client requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience within a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Revit for design coordination and project delivery.
  • Experience using Hevacomp and/or MagiCAD for mechanical calculations and design.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and building services engineering.
  • Knowledge of IES VE or TAS thermal modelling software and its application within building services projects.
  • Experience working within a Building Services Consultancy or MEP environment.
  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
Desirable
  • Membership of CIBSE or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Membership of IMechE or progress towards Incorporated/Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience delivering commercial, education, healthcare or industrial projects.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.

We are looking for an engineer with a solid Building Services background rather than a general mechanical, manufacturing or product design background. Candidates should demonstrate experience with industry-standard building services software, mechanical calculations, design coordination and project delivery within consultancy environments.
