Some Facilities Manager roles are all about keeping the lights on and the machines running. This one has you managing a critical piece of aviation infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the entire physical operation at one of the world's most recognised names in aviation MRO, a business that overhauls and repairs aircraft landing gear for some of the biggest airlines on the planet. Part of the third largest aviation group in the world, the site in Hayes is operationally critical, technically complex, and never stops.
The Facilities Manager here isn't a support function. You're a strategic partner to the Chief Operations Officer, owning everything from the building fabric and utilities through to security governance, business continuity, supplier performance, and a continuous improvement roadmap that actually moves things forward. If you've been running facilities for a business that treats you like a glorified maintenance coordinator, this is something different.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the full facilities function across a complex operational site β hard and soft services, asset management, compliance frameworks, and contractor performance, all of it
- Acting as Designated Security Officer, owning site security infrastructure, boundary control, and relationships with external authorities
- Driving the financial side β developing and managing the facilities budget, owning procurement decisions, handling utilities compliance including CCA, ESOS, and SECR reporting
- Leading business continuity planning and sitting on the Site Incident Response Team as part of COMAH
- Building and developing a small management team, with a genuine focus on succession planning and capability growth
- Owning the continuous improvement roadmap and producing business cases that shift how the site operates, not just proposals that sit in a drawer
What you'll need:
- A strong background in facilities management, ideally with exposure to MRO, aviation, engineering, or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience owning compliance frameworks, managing budgets, and leading supplier relationships at a senior level
- The gravitas to engage at board level and the credibility to be taken seriously on the shop floor
- A track record of delivering projects and transformation initiatives, not just maintaining the status quo
The package includes salary up to Β£75k, bonus up to 20%, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a 9% non-contributory pension. The role is site-based in Hayes due to the operational nature of the position.
