We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of commercial solar PV installations across the UK, managing projects from contract award through to commissioning and client handover. This is a key role within our Operations team, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the role:

  • Managing end-to-end delivery of commercial solar PV projects from mobilisation through to handover
  • Managing projects with values up to £1m across multiple sites
  • Coordinating design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client handover activities
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes and monitoring progress against key milestones
  • Managing budgets, variations, forecasting, and project performance
  • Leading subcontractors, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, RAMS, HSE requirements, and quality standards
  • Supporting DNO applications, grid connection processes (G98/G99), testing, and energisation
  • Building strong relationships with customers and providing regular project updates

What we’re looking for:

  • 3–5+ years’ experience managing commercial solar PV, electrical, or renewable energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial solar PV systems and industry standards
  • Experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously within a construction or renewable energy environment
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Understanding of UK DNO processes, including G98/G99 requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and project management software
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable experience and qualifications:

  • SMSTS qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Experience delivering Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Experience integrating EV charging infrastructure
  • Knowledge of renewable energy legislation and industry standards

The package:

  • Salary: £50,000 (flexible depending on experience)
  • Bonus: Up to 10%
  • Company car allowance: £6,900
  • Death in Service: 4x salary
  • Pension: 5% employer / 5% employee contribution
  • Working hours: 42.5 hours per week
