We are recruiting qualified Electrical Engineers / Electricians to join our Facilities Maintenance team supporting high-profile defence sites in South Oxfordshire. These are permanent roles working on secure MOD sites, offering stability, variety, and the opportunity to be part of a well-supported engineering team in a unique environment.
We have two positions available:
- Static Electrical Engineer β based permanently at RAF Benson or Dalton Barracks
- Mobile Electrical Engineer β covering four defence sites across South Oxfordshire (van, fuel card & on-call allowance provided)
Both roles form part of a professional on-site engineering team responsible for the safety, compliance, and reliability of electrical and building services infrastructure across the estate.
The Role
You will carry out a mix of:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Fault finding on electrical systems
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and MOD standards
- Maintaining high Health & Safety standards on secure sites
You will work on systems including:
- 3-phase power distribution
- Emergency lighting
- Small power
- Alarms and controls
- General building services infrastructure
Static Role β RAF Benson / Dalton Barracks
- Site-based position with a consistent working environment
- Ideal for engineers who prefer a singular location and routine
- Working as part of a dedicated on-site team
Mobile Role β South Oxfordshire Defence Sites
- Covering four MOD sites
- Company van and fuel card provided
- On-call rota allowance
- Ideal for engineers who enjoy variety and independence
What Weβre Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- AM2 2391
- 18th Edition
- Experience in PPM, fault-finding, and reactive maintenance
- Background in commercial, FM, or defence environments desirable
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Full UK driving licence (mobile role)
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Eligible for BPSS clearance (must have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years)
