The Role

  • Ensuring all plant equipment and facility areas are maintained, repaired, and operating safely.
  • Fault-finding and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Carrying out daily machine and statutory checks.
  • Supporting shift cover and occasional out-of-hours call-outs.
  • Identifying required spare parts and planning ahead.
  • Working safely in line with all environmental and H&S procedures.

This is a practical, varied role in an environment where reliability and quick problem-solving make a real difference.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong experience in plant maintenance.
  • Mechanical or electrical background.
  • Ideally an apprenticeship or relevant qualification (not essential).
  • Experience working at heights and with pumps, motors, pipework (PVC), and general industrial kit.
  • Understanding of gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers, AHUs or AC units is a bonus.

Personal Qualities

  • Confident using tools safely.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Able to communicate clearly and work with onsite contractors.
  • Calm, practical, and proactive.

Working Environment

  • COMAH site environment.
  • Hands-on work with tools, machinery, greases, and oils.
  • Manual handling and heavy lifting involved.
  • Training provided on equipment such as overhead cranes.
  • Standing for long periods will be required.

Requirements

  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Willing to complete mandatory training.
  • Physically fit for manual tasks and lifting aircraft components.
