The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a growing team covering planned maintenance, reactive callouts, fault-finding, small works and installations across commercial sites in South Wales.
This is a hands-on field position suited to an engineer who is confident working independently, dealing directly with customers and delivering a high standard of technical work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
- Diagnose faults and resolve issues across fire and security systems
- Complete small works, upgrades and minor installations
- Work across fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control
- Install, test and commission new equipment where required
- Work with IP and integrated security systems
- Support complex fire alarm systems, including cause & effect
- Complete service reports, certification and job documentation
- Liaise professionally with customers and site contacts
- Work safely and efficiently across occupied commercial buildings
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience within Fire & Security – essential
- Strong practical experience with fire alarms and/or security systems
- Good knowledge of intruder alarms, CCTV and access control
- Confident with fault-finding, testing and commissioning
- Experience with IP / integrated systems
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence – essential
Desirable
- FIA / BS 5839 training or equivalent
- Experience with complex fire alarm systems and cause & effect
- Fire extinguisher experience
- Manufacturer-specific system knowledge
