Salary: £28,000–£32,000 | Full-Time, Permanent

We\’re looking for a hands-on
Yard Engineer
to join a busy team preparing, testing, and repairing generators. This role is mainly yard-based, with occasional travel to customer sites. You\’ll support the Workshop Foreman and ensure our equipment is ready for hire.

What You\’ll Do:

• Prepare, service, and maintain generators for hire.
• Carry out repairs on generators at customer sites when needed.
• Assist with loading and offloading equipment.
• Drive a forklift truck in the yard as required.
• Manage generator deliveries and returns, including refueling.
• Take part in an on-call rota.
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean and safe.
• Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant.
• OR proven experience servicing diesel generators.
• Strong fault-finding and communication skills.
• Forklift truck license preferred.
