The Role
We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services consultancy in Cardiff, working across a strong portfolio of commercial, industrial, education and public-sector projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Engineer with a solid MEP background who wants to take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health systems
- Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports
- Developing and coordinating designs using Revit
- Working closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams
- Supporting projects from concept through to construction
- Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and project teams
- Ensuring designs meet current British Standards, regulations and client requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Design
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and MEP systems
- Confident using Revit within a building services environment
- Experience with Hevacomp, MagiCAD, IES VE or similar design software
- Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and system design
- Consultancy or MEP experience
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering
Desirable
- Working towards CIBSE / IMechE membership or professional accreditation
- Experience across commercial, education, healthcare or industrial projects
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
