We are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join our dynamic and highly regarded national Healthcare Team – a circa 35‑strong group recognized for its depth of expertise and collaborative, multi‑disciplinary approach. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping and growing a specialist employment law offering within a Top 50 UK law firm, supporting a diverse and established healthcare client base. Our clients span independent healthcare providers, dental practices, veterinary groups, and adult and children’s social‑care organisations, alongside a broad range of other operators across the health and care sector. Our healthcare team is already well‑established, advising on corporate, regulatory, real estate, and wider sector‑specific matters. We are now looking to expand our employment capability to deliver a truly integrated, full‑service offering to our clients – making this an excellent platform for an ambitious and entrepreneurial lawyer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise healthcare sector clients on the full spectrum of employment law issues, with a strong emphasis on corporate respondent work.
  • Support clients on HR advisory matters, TUPE, restructures, workforce strategy, senior exits, and disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Lead on and manage employment tribunal claims.
  • Work closely with colleagues across corporate, regulatory, and real estate teams to deliver seamless, sector‑focused advice.
  • Play a central role in developing and growing the healthcare employment practice, identifying opportunities within an existing client base.
  • Contribute to the team’s sector profile through business development, thought leadership, and attendance at key healthcare industry events.

About You

  • A qualified solicitor with significant experience advising healthcare clients on employment law matters.
  • A strong understanding of the commercial and regulatory landscape affecting healthcare providers.
  • A demonstrable track record in business development, with an existing network or following within the healthcare sector highly desirable.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and confident in identifying and leading on new opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
