This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious employment law solicitor to join our national Employment, HR and Immigration practice as a partner, leading our offer in Leamington Spa. Whether you are an experienced partner seeking a new opportunity or a senior associate/legal director ready to step into partnership for the first time, this role offers the ideal setting to thrive.
As Head of Employment in Leamington, you will play a key role in shaping and growing the practice within our newest office, contributing to the energy, ambition and momentum of an expanding presence in the region. Working alongside our Joint Heads of Office, you will support business development activities and help drive the success of the Leamington office as it enters an exciting new chapter.
You will lead a team of varying experience levels, while managing a high-quality and diverse caseload. There is plenty of work to pick up from day one, giving you an immediate platform from which to build your profile, strengthen client relationships and drive growth of the employment offering both locally and nationally.
The Employment Team
Our Employment team offers specialist advice on all aspects of Employment, HR and Immigration law. We are passionate about our work and care deeply about the people and organisations we support. Our clients are diverse and include PLCs, SMEs and major national and international employers, across both the public and private sectors – from education, healthcare and local government to manufacturing, aviation, recruitment and professional services, as well as private individuals, senior executives and public figures.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to our growing Midlands practice, working closely with the Joint Head of Office.
- Deliver expert advice across a broad spectrum of employment, HR and immigration matters.
- Build and maintain relationships with a diverse client base including public and private sector organisations, PLCs, SMEs and individuals; there is also scope to get involved in international matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues across HCR to deliver holistic legal support and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Mentor junior team members and create an environment of continuous professional development and excellence.
- Actively contribute to business development and enhancing our market profile in the region.
About You
- A qualified solicitor with substantial experience in Employment Law.
- Ideally have a respondent background; a mix of claimant and respondent experience is acceptable.
- Technically sound and comfortable dealing with high-value, high-profile and complex matters.
- Capable of managing teams and developing practice areas.
- Commercially savvy and confident in business development.
- Collaborative, client-focused and ambitious.
