Mechanical Maintenance Fitter (Nights - 4 on / 4 off)
Location: Walsall
This is a strong opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter looking to move into a well-paid nights-based role with high earning potential and stability.
You'll be joining a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing environment with a strong engineering team and consistent investment in plant reliability and improvement.

This is a well-paid night shift role with strong total earnings and long-term security.
The role
- Responding to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Fault finding and root cause analysis on plant and equipment
- Planned maintenance and TPM activity
- Workshop-based repair, overhaul, and refurbishment work
- Supporting installation and improvement projects
- Working closely with shift engineering teams
Equipment and environment
- Hydraulics and pneumatics systems
- Heavy industrial machinery and production plant
- Mechanical drives, gearboxes, and assemblies
- Workshop and site-based maintenance work
Progression

- Senior Engineer positions
- Lead / Charge Hand roles

Requirements
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds)
- Experience in mechanical maintenance or fitting
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to read technical drawings
- 4 on / 4 off (nights)
- 40.25 hours per week
- 8-week cycle
Provides a structured shift pattern with extended time off between blocks.
