A leading UK manufacturer within the electrical engineering and power distribution sector is seeking an experienced Quality Manager with transformer manufacturing experience to join their growing operation in Leeds. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving quality standards, managing aftersales and warranty processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Role

You will take ownership of the company’s quality management systems and aftersales function, ensuring products, processes, and customer support consistently meet the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing the QMS in line with ISO9001 standards
  • Leading internal/external audits and corrective actions
  • Driving continuous improvement across quality and aftersales operations
  • Managing customer complaints, warranty claims, and technical aftersales enquiries
  • Coordinating investigations and producing technical reports/responses
  • Analysing quality data and identifying trends and root causes
  • Working closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers
  • Reporting on key quality and aftersales KPIs
  • Attending customer and site meetings when required

To be considered, you should have:

  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Essential experience working with transformers
  • Strong background in Quality Management within engineering/manufacturing
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems (CAQ, APQP, PDM etc.)
  • Six Sigma, Lean, TQM or similar certification
  • Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience handling customer-facing technical issues and warranty claims
  • Full UK driving licence
