Reporting into the Head of Operations, the Production Supervisor will take ownership of day-to-day shopfloor performance, ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time, while developing and supporting a multi-skilled production team.
The Role
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and supervising teams across fitting, testing, fabrication, panel wiring and stock handling, ensuring production schedules, KPIs and OTIF targets are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities
- Allocating work and supervising daily production activities across multiple disciplines
- Providing hands-on support on the shopfloor when required
- Identifying, reporting and resolving production issues
- Reviewing works orders and ensuring all production requirements are in place before commencement
- Reading and proof-checking engineering and schematic drawings
- Monitoring quality standards and checking the work of others
- Completing and maintaining production and compliance paperwork
- Keeping training records accurate and up to date
- Coaching, supporting and motivating team members
- Actively contributing to Continuous Improvement, Quality, Health & Safety initiatives
What Theyβre Looking For
This role would suit a confident, practical leader with a strong background in mechanical or electrical manufacturing who enjoys being close to the operation and leading from the front.
Ideal experience includes:
- Proven Team Leader or Supervisory experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
- Background in fast-paced manufacturing with changing priorities
- Experience working within a LEAN manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear, confident communicator at all levels
- Apprenticeship and/or mechanical or electrical qualification (preferred)
- Collaborative mindset with a continuous improvement focus
- Very healthy quarterly profit/share bonus scheme
- Nine-day fortnight (37.5 hours) β every other Friday off
