A large and well-established UK manufacturing business is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer (Reliability) to join its engineering team at a major production facility in Herefordshire. This role will focus on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across a high-volume manufacturing site. You’ll work closely with maintenance and production teams to identify issues, improve asset performance, and implement proactive maintenance strategies. This position would suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer looking to take on a more strategic engineering role.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime across the site
- Analyse performance data to identify root causes of failures
- Develop proactive maintenance strategies including predictive and condition-based maintenance
- Support engineering and production teams with planned maintenance and improvement activities
- Lead reliability reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage external contractors and OEM support where required
- Maintain asset documentation including preventative maintenance schedules and compliance records
- Support engineering improvement and capital projects
Skills & Experience
- HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG engineering environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems and performance metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams
