We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist power transformer engineering business.
This is a senior technical role focused on the electrical design of power transformers and reactors up to 132kV / 120MVA, while also supporting the wider engineering team and deputising for the Electrical Design Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design power transformers and reactors up to 132kV / 120MVA
- Produce BOMs and technical documentation
- Review and approve designs, drawings, and supplier documentation
- Support tendering activities with technical datasheets and compliance documents
- Analyse test results and support continuous improvement
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, production, quality, and purchasing teams
- Mentor junior engineers and apprentices
Essential Requirements
- Significant electrical design experience of power transformers in an OEM manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with 132kV transformer and reactor design
- Strong knowledge of transformer electrical design calculations and design software
- Experience with FEMM / electromagnetic analysis tools
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
