Tameside and Glossop Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is based in Stalybridge, Tameside. A multidisciplinary team providing mental health services to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with Education, Children's Social Care and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise organizations.
Main Duties:
- Ensure systematic provision of high-quality clinical psychology input to CAMHS
- Undertake direct assessment and intervention with children, young people and their families
- Supervise psychological work provided by other staff within the multi-disciplinary team
- Contribute to risk assessment and management as part of the core CAMHS duty offer
- Offer training and consultation both internally and externally to partner agencies
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines
- Utilise skills for audit, service evaluation and service development
Essential Criteria:
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS
- HCPC registered (or eligibility and commitment to be registered before start date)
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist at a specialist level
- Experience of working with children and young people presenting with the full range of clinical severity
- Experience of working with families and carers
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
- CAMHS experience essential
- Use of a car or access to mobility to travel across Tameside
Service highlights include the long-established Early Attachment Service (now Parent Infant Mental Health Service) and the Family Intervention and Therapy Service (FITS). Newly or recently qualified psychologists welcome via preceptorship.
