Grade: NHS AfC Band 8a (Band 7–8a preceptorship pathway available)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours) and Part-time (18.75 hours) – 1.5 WTE total
Salary: £49,387 – £64,750 per annum, pro rata
Two posts available: 1.0 WTE and 0.5 WTE. Band 7-8a preceptorship pathway is available for suitable candidates.
The adult acute wards, Aspen and Oak, provide specialist assessment, care and treatment for men and women presenting with a range of mental health needs. Admissions commonly occur via A&E, Mental Health Liaison, Home Treatment Team, or community Mental Health Act Assessments. Service users are often experiencing significant distress, mental health deterioration and/or crisis.
Main Duties
- Hold a clinical caseload undertaking evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention (individual and/or group)
- Work with mental health difficulties at the point of crisis including psychosis, depression and/or Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN)
- Work as part of the MDT and provide specialist psychological support, consultation and guidance
- Provide reflective practice, team formulation and training to develop a psychological understanding
- Formulation driven, recovery focussed and trauma and gender informed care
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management
- Undertake project management, including audit and service evaluation
Essential Criteria
- Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology as accredited by BPS
- Current HCPC registration as Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist
- Experience of specialist psychology assessment and treatment across the full range of care settings
- Experience working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course
- MDT working experience
- Use of a car or access to mobility to travel across the Trust footprint
