Work Pattern: Hybrid working with face to face clinic time

The Psychological Medicine Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 7 CBT Therapist with BABCP accreditation. The role sits primarily within the Stockport locality of this Trust-wide service and will involve working closely with physical health colleagues to form part of an integrated psychological and physical health MDT.

Main Duties

  • Provide a CBT Service in the field of Psychological Medicine as a member of the psychological and physical health multidisciplinary team
  • Organise and deliver clinics at Health Centres and Hospital
  • Provide a lead role in promoting Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a specialist treatment within physical health services
  • Contribute to the development of treatment initiatives within the Psychological Medicine Service
  • Exercise autonomous, professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients
  • Provide CBT based assessment, formulation and treatment for people experiencing moderate to severe common mental health problems
  • Opportunities for group based intervention in addition to 1-1 client facing work
  • Combination of remote and office based working
  • Attend monthly clinical supervision to develop knowledge, skills and ensure safe therapeutic practice

Essential Criteria

  • Core Mental Health Profession Qualification (Psychologist, RMHN, OT, Social Worker)
  • Post-Graduate Qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with experience to Masters level
  • BABCP Accreditation
  • Proven experience in Core Mental Health Profession
  • Experience of specialist CBT assessment and treatment across outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings
  • Experience organising and running groups
  • Demonstrable experience of supervision
  • Knowledge of NHS Mental Health Systems
  • Specialist Clinical Skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Use of a car or access to mobility to travel across the Trust footprint

Desirable

  • Evidence of further study in CBT i.e. Masters Level Degree
  • Supervision Qualification

  • Experience working with mental health and co-morbid physical health conditions
  • Experience in giving Specialist CBT Supervision
