The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of labour, materials, and equipment for passive fire protection projects. They will work closely with the sales, project management, and operations teams to ensure competitive and profitable bid proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure comprehensive coverage of all project requirements.
- Maintain the tender tracker and ensure timely submission of bids.
- Work with the Account Manager to manage opportunities and help set client expectations.
- Work with the Contracts Manager to assess project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Participate in sales meetings to discuss sales pipeline and work-in-progress.
- Provide support to the sales team in client meetings and negotiations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and fire protection solutions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator in the passive fire protection industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems and materials.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimation software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
