The Warehouse Assistant will assist with the preparation and dispatch of hire equipment. The role will provide invaluable support to ensure that the operation delivers exceptional service to its customers and ensures output meets the requirements of the business. The role includes the development of preparation processes, looking for and implementing improvements to make the team as effective and efficient as possible. You may be required to assist, or cover for, other roles within the operation for which full training / support will be given.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative tasks as required for the role.
  • Develop safe working practices according to H&S policies.
  • Prepare, assemble, and de-prepare new and used equipment.
  • Assist the asset management team with stock location / requests.
  • Assist the loading and tipping of courier / transport vehicles.
  • Ensure equipment is delivered within timelines with appropriate packaging and documentation.
  • Report immediately to managers any anomalies, lost or damaged equipment.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, organised and tidy condition.
  • liaise effectively and professionally with third parties and customers to provide a high standard of support and customer service, adhering to Solotech service standards where required.
  • Communicate (both written and verbal) with all areas of the business and outside sources in a clear and effective manner in accordance with Solotech core standards where required.
  • Work as a member of the team, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
  • Use forklift to load / unload vehicles and ensure safe working environment is kept at all times where trained to do so.
  • Handle any other reasonable ad‑hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Good administration skills.
  • Ability to interact with people of all professional levels.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is fast paced, with several jobs loading / unloading simultaneously.
  • Ability to use computers, in particular Microsoft Office packages.
  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Fit and able to lift and move equipment as required within given Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Enthusiastic team player, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech colleagues, departments, and external contacts.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of pro‑audio equipment.

Other Requirements

  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Forklift licence is desirable (training will be provided if not in place).

Level of Education

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent work experience).

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year experience within a warehouse environment.
