Reporting to the Senior Rigging Supervisor, you will work in our warehouse preparing, maintaining and managing the delivery of rigging / lifting systems for the busy hire department. The role includes providing technical support to staff and training of junior members of staff.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
- Assist and ensure the allocation of equipment to jobs.
- Stock control using current rental management software with a high degree of accuracy.
- Prepare and manage equipment prior to use for hire or jobs.
- Ensure preparations are completed smoothly and on time for load-out.
- Oversee and/or complete the de-preparation of equipment after use.
- Prioritise the return of sub-hired equipment during de-preparation.
- Test and evaluate equipment to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose maintaining Solotech’s standards.
- Perform PAT Testing.
- LOLER Rigging examiner.
- Immediately report to managers any lost, stolen or damaged equipment.
- Immediately report to managers any anomalies with equipment.
- Operate the Pedestrian Stacker and/or the Forklift Truck as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy department at all times, including mezzanine storage areas.
- Be a Solotech Ambassador at all times.
- Any other reasonable ad‑hoc requests as required by your manager.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Essential Skills / Experience
- A general understanding of Live Production Rigging Systems.
- Ability to use initiative in order to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- A good team player with excellent communication skills.
- Immaculate attention to detail, aspiring to the very highest standards in their work.
- An appetite for learning with a “can‑do” attitude.
- Competent using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is fast paced, with several jobs loading / unloading simultaneously.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- LOLER Rigging (training will be provided if without).
- Forklift license is desirable (training will be provided if without).
- Ability to be able to use a Pedestrian Stacker (training will be provided if without).
Essential Requirements
- Right to work and remain in the UK.
- Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays as required.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time.
Level of Education
Educated to GCSE level, with A-C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
