Join Our World-Class Team – General Swing Technician with a video and lighting bias at ABBA Voyage. We are expanding our exceptional team to ensure ABBA Voyage continues to deliver outstanding performances. In partnership with ABBA Voyage, Solotech supplies cutting‑edge equipment and key production personnel across audio, video, and lighting disciplines. You will have experience in operating large‑scale live productions in theatre or other industries and must have extensive knowledge of Video or Lighting Equipment to include experience with integration of video with live performance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain and support the show’s system design
- Support Video and Lighting teams during rehearsals, previews, performances, and maintenance periods
- Operate Video and/or Lighting systems during performances as required
- Manage associated control equipment
- Undertake proactive and preventative maintenance
- Assist with scheduling routine maintenance and equipment replacement
- Report equipment faults and liaise with Solotech Project Managers regarding repairs
- Share knowledge within the Solotech team, contributing to cross‑departmental skill development
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently and under pressure
- Work closely with the Heads of Video and Lighting to ensure smooth daily show operations
- Monitor and manage spare stock levels for on‑site repairs
- Support internal departments when required to ensure excellent customer service
- Carry out any additional duties reasonably associated with the role
- Level of education: Industry accepted qualifications, Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or proven work experience
- Work experience: Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in live events or the theatre sector, Strong understanding of key control systems and technical disciplines used within live productions
- Required skills: Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask calmly under pressure, Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and precise, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Professional, diplomatic, and customer‑focused, Team‑oriented with the ability to work autonomously when required, Comfortable working at height while wearing a harness, Discreet, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality, Proactive problem-solver, aligned with company policies and procedures, Able to represent Solotech to the highest professional standard at all times
- Knowledge of any/all of the following protocols applicable to the show would be of great benefit: VYV Photon and VYV Albion, Disguise, Barco Event Master E2 & S3, Brompton LED Processors, IT networking, Working at heights, ROE LED Panels and ROE Strip, Panasonic projectors, LiveEdit, Luminex network switches, Ross camera robotics, IPAF 1b
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays from time to time
