The Inventory Technician plays a crucial role in managing two key areas within the organisation:

  • Receiving equipment physically in the inventory department, ensuring that all incoming items are accurately logged, categorised, and stored in an organised manner to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
  • End‑to‑end Goods In/Out process providing dedicated support to both the Live Productions & Sales and System Integration teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out receiving of new equipment and updating the inventory system (R2).
  • Tracking and updating data in the inventory system (R2).
  • Making corrections as requested by the department supervisors.
  • Assisting inventory clerks as needed (identification, handling etc.).
  • Creating transfers (R2) between sites and routing equipment for transport (for new assets dispatch).
  • Managing the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and member‑ready area.
  • Promptly unloading trucks and deliveries, and sorting and stocking receivables.
  • Providing additional backup support for the warehouse.
  • Performing all other tasks related to the position and responsibilities.

Goods In/out:

  • Checking goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages, booking in on relevant systems against relevant purchase orders.
  • Ensuring goods reach the appropriate department/individual.
  • Managing the packaging and documentation of all goods out (UK & worldwide) ensuring security, quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Ensuring any shipping anomalies are reported to management immediately.
  • Ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded.
  • Maintaining warehouse, yard and department tidiness.
  • Liaising with other Solotech’s warehouses/goods in on receiving stock and movement between sites.
  • Working with managers across all departments to manage stock control, movements and logistics for the wider warehouse & SSI teams.
  • Providing support for booking couriers and transport when needed.

Ad‑Hoc:

  • Any other reasonable ad‑hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:

  • Good administration skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to use a database software, knowledge of Macs.
  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Desirable skills / experience:

  • Experience of working within a similar role or within a similar industry would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment.
  • Knowledge of R2 management system.
  • Forklift license would be advantageous, although training can be given.

Essential requirements:

  • Right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time.

Level of education:

  • A minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.

Work experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant role.
