Job Purpose

To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the spa facility, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and luxurious environment for guests, members, visitors, and staff.

The Cleaning Operative will be responsible for cleaning all spa areas, adhering to health and safety regulations, and supporting the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning Duties
  • Clean and sanitise all spa facilities, including treatment rooms, relaxation areas, changing rooms, showers, toilets, poolside areas, saunas, steam rooms, and reception areas.
  • Ensure all floors are swept, vacuumed, mopped, and maintained to a high standard.
  • Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
  • Empty waste bins and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures.
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet tissue, hand towels, and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of staff welfare areas and back-of-house facilities.
  • Carry out periodic deep-cleaning tasks as directed.
  • Hygiene & Safety
  • Follow all cleaning schedules, procedures, and checklists.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, damages, or health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure wet floor signs and other safety measures are used appropriately during cleaning activities.
  • Support infection prevention and control measures throughout the facility.

  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and approachable manner at all times.
  • Respond politely to guest enquiries and direct them to the appropriate member of staff when required.
  • Work discreetly to minimise disruption to spa guests and treatments.
  • Present a professional appearance in line with company standards.

  • Complete all assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
  • Assist with additional cleaning duties during special events or busy operational periods.
