We are seeking an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support a large-scale housing asset management programme on an initial 6-12 month contract basis. The successful candidate will undertake detailed stock condition surveys across residential properties, assessing building components, identifying defects, and collecting accurate asset data to support planned maintenance and investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct stock condition surveys across occupied and void residential properties
  • Assess the condition and remaining lifespan of building components including:
    • Kitchens
    • Bathrooms
    • Roofs
    • Windows and doors
    • Heating systems
    • External elements
  • Identify defects, HHSRS concerns, and maintenance requirements
  • Capture accurate data using handheld devices/tablets and asset management software
  • Produce clear and concise survey reports
  • Support planned maintenance and capital investment programmes
  • Liaise professionally with tenants, contractors, and internal teams

Requirements

  • Previous experience undertaking stock condition surveys within social housing or residential property
  • Strong knowledge of residential building construction and maintenance
  • Experience using asset management or surveying software
  • Ability to work independently and manage survey workloads effectively
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable

  • HNC/HND or degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
  • Experience within housing associations or local authorities
  • Knowledge of Decent Homes Standards and HHSRS
  • Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification beneficial
